Canned vegetables can typically be stored for 15 months when unopened. However, once opened, the storage time is significantly reduced. When refrigerated, canned vegetables can generally be kept for 3-5 days.
The main factors affecting the storage time of canned vegetables include storage temperature and the acidity or alkalinity of the can itself. High-temperature sterilization and vacuum packaging are key technologies for extending the shelf life of canned goods. High-temperature sterilization can kill most bacteria, while vacuum packaging prevents the intrusion of oxygen and bacteria. Additionally, the protective coating on the inside of the can also helps to extend the shelf life.
